Andrew Grima

Was born in Rome. He worked at the jewelry store of his future father-in-law in London. He was responsible for the development and the design of the jewelry. Like an artist he drew every piece as if it was meant to be a painting, before it went into production. Andrew Grima specialized on organic design and decided to depart from the forms and materials being used in the classical jewelry design. Grima favored 18k gold, structured and unconventional stones before classical forms. In 1969 Grima was assigned by Omega to design a watch collection. From this assignment he developed the idea to see time "through jewelry". The collection became well known under the name "About Time".
